(BGM from FF10 Introduction Theme)
The story takes place in a world called "Spira". Tidus miraculously survives the attack which destroys his homeland, and awakens in the middle of ruins. He soon meets up with Yuna, who is traveling the world to visit temples and learn how to summon the Aeons, "powerful spirits of yore," so she can destroy the force of nature known as Sin.
As the pair journey, they learn more about Spira's past. One thousand years ago, Spira was a land of great technological advancement and "spectacular cities." However, Sin suddenly and mysteriously arose and destroyed all civilization. Since then, the people have lived in fear of technology, never knowing when and where Sin will strike next......
"I will defeat Sin. I must."

My review: Square has once again amazed us by releasing the first Final Fantasy title on PlayStation 2 that makes full use of the PS2's hardware capabilitites and certainly surpasses any of the previous FF titles! With the full use of 3D polygonal scenes and objects, FF10 will give you a totally new and exciting adventuring experience! The texture detail and facial expressions of the real-time rendered characters are unbelievably real and amazing. The FMVs used in the game will even cause your jaw to drop :)
Due to the full 3D design of the game and other limitations, the plot of the game is rather straight forward, and the degree of freedom in the game is somewhat shrunk when compared with previous FF titles. Because of this some people complain that the game is like an interactive movie more than a RPG. I must admit that this is somewhat true. However, the use of realistic real-time facial expressions, voices from top voice actors, and the supremely amazing FMVs, together with the carefully-planned plot and story lines, will bring you a totally immersed gameplay experience. During the game you will feel like you are actually Tidus and go on the adventure to fight against Sin. Your encounters during the adventure, your interactions with the other characters, and your love story with Yuna are all very real. What's bad at all if you can have many hours of such kind of realistic and amazing gameplay experience?
